Photos from Obama Ice Cream Social
Thanks to everyone who came out to Scoops last night to sample Flavors for Change! The turnout was great and all of the ice cream was sold out by 9:30pm. Have no fear, though, the flavors for Change will be available for the rest of the week, so come on down and try out flavors like "Obaiden," "Baracky Road," "Blue Forever," "Alternative Energy" and "Obama Victory" sorbet. You'll just have to come down to Scoops to see what flavors made it to the top!

Dear Mr. President - send video letters at Flavors For Change
Thanks to Geri Ulrey and her students at Cal-State Northridge, the Oct 28 party celebrating Flavors For Change will feature a video booth where attendees can send a video to the next president of the USA. How do I suggest a flavor?
We're glad you asked! There is a suggestion board up at Scoops or you can leave suggestions on this blog. Let your imagination run wild. Generally, Tai Kim (the flavormaster) combines two, maybe three flavors maximum together.
For example, you could take Obama's Hawaiian background into account: Guava Pineapple sorbet. Or you could suggest a flavor inspired by John McCain. Pork and Prunes, anyone?
For those of you who have never been to Scoops, it is right next door to LA City College on Heliotrope, just north of Melrose Avenue. The Address is: 712 N. Heliotrope Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90029

Inspired by the current election season and Barack Obama's presidential bid, SCOOPS ice creamery in East Hollywood is proud to announce a new campaign: FLAVORS FOR CHANGE.
From now until October 25, we want YOU to suggest flavors inspired by the Obama campaign, the election, his opponents, your hopes for our country's future. Be creative! Think outside the box! But most imporantly, participate!
From Oct 27-31, Tai will serve from the flavor pool created by you, with 20 percent of the proceeds from that week going to the Obama Victory Fund.
There will be a special OBAMA ICE CREAM SOCIAL on Tuesday Oct 28 from 7-10pm to showcase some of the more popular flavors as well as kick off the last week before the election. Come taste the flavor of change about to take hold of America and GET OUT THE VOTE!
